Show the Art You Make
Classes in Collaboration with UFORGE Gallery

UFORGE Gallery cultivates a creative, inclusive arts community with assignment-based, non-juried exhibitions and events. We are proud to collaborate on this new workshop series.
Each workshop in the series ties to an exhibition theme. Take a UFORGE workshop, and the art you make will be in the matching show, with a gallery reception, even possible reviews and sales.
The workshops take place at UFORGE Gallery, 767 Centre St, Jamaica Plain, just around the corner from the Eliot School. Download directions (pdf).

Assemblages with Found Objects
Prepare to make an assemblage that tells a story with found objects. Look at work by Joseph Cornell, instructor Amy Hitchcock and other contemporary assemblage artists. Discuss how to construct narrative with found objects. Then learn techniques for making your assemblage: how to choose the perfect box, where to find supplies, gluing techniques, and more. You have two options: Section 2M is a brief talk and demonstration; you will leave ready to make your assemblage at home. In Section 3M, you will complete your assemblage over four days.
