Section 8S — Drawing in 3 Dimensions
Sunday, June 2 — 10am–3pm – OPEN
Instructor: Asia Scudder

Use wire to draw in space. Taking inspiration from Alexander Calder, deconstruct his creative process and strategies. Learn about types of wire principles of wire bending, using simple hand tools. Begin with 2-dimensional contour drawings from observation. Then get comfortable with wire, making a series of basic shapes including a spiral, circle, and line with sharp bends, bending, tightening and forming designs. Then create one finished 3-dimensional drawing in wire, which will either sit on a surface or hang on a wall. Close with a group critique.
Asia Scudder's wire drawings represent animals, people and spirits. They are fluid, lively, engaging forms.
