Wood Turning: Bowls and Beyond 1M24
Beginner or experienced turner, take wood from fallen trees and "turn" it into 2 - 3 bowls.. Beginners receive basic instruction on safety, lathe operation and carving techniques all geared to the novice. All wood, tools and safety equipment are provided. Experienced turners are welcome to bring their own tools and learn advanced techniques to carve faster, smoother and create more unusual shapes. Receive lots of 1 on 1 instructions geared to your specific experience and skill level. Most of all, have fun making something with your own hands.
Ken Lindgren
Ken Lindgren makes functional and abstract objects from trees that have fallen due to death, disease, storm or construction. A member of the American Association of Woodturners, he has taught wood turning at Fuller Craft Museum, the New England Woodturning Symposium and elsewhere. He sells his turned bowls and other works of wood art throughout New England. He has won sculpture awards at North River Arts Society Festival of the Arts and Bridgton Maine’s Art in the Park. His professional career was as a chemical engineer.
